Al-Nassr head into the final with plenty of confidence despite the frustration of their most recent league outing. Jorge Jesus’s men were moments away from beating Al-Hilal after taking a 1-0 lead, only for a stoppage-time own goal caused by defensive mistakes involving Iñigo Martínez and Bento Krepski to force a 1-1 draw. While the result was a setback, Al-Nassr have the quality and experience to respond positively in a high-pressure final.

The Saudi side have looked dominant throughout the AFC Champions League campaign. They cruised past Al-Wasl with a commanding 4-0 victory and then dismantled Al-Ahli Doha 5-1 in the knockout rounds. Since January, Al-Nassr have suffered only one defeat in 23 matches, while recording 15 clean sheets. Although midfield concerns remain surrounding Angelo Borges, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, and Marcelo Brozović, the attacking quartet of Sadio Mané, Kingsley Coman, Cristiano Ronaldo, and João Félix gives them enormous firepower against a defense that has shown vulnerability.

Gamba Osaka have taken a very different route to the final, relying more on resilience and determination than dominance. The Japanese outfit overcame Pohang Steelers after a draw and a narrow victory, repeated the feat against Ratchaburi, and then produced an impressive comeback against Bangkok United, overturning a 0-1 first-leg defeat with a convincing 3-0 win in the return match.

However, injuries remain a major obstacle for Jens Wissing’s side. Defensive instability has been a recurring issue throughout the season, with Jun Ichimori, Shota Fukuoka, Riku Handa, Shogo Sasaki, and Asahi Uenaka all unavailable. Much of Gamba’s attacking hopes will rest on Deniz Hümmet, who has scored 12 goals this season, but against an experienced Al-Nassr squad, organization and discipline may not be enough to bridge the quality gap.
