Belgium may no longer feature several members of their so-called golden generation, but there is still growing belief that Rudi Garcia’s side can make a deep run at the upcoming World Cup. The team are currently on a 12-match unbeaten streak stretching back to March 2025, collecting eight wins and four draws during that period.

Their most recent results underline that momentum. Belgium opened with a 5-2 victory over the United States in Atlanta, followed by a 1-1 draw against Mexico. Most recently, they produced a statement performance by defeating Croatia 2-0 away in Rijeka, a result that further strengthened confidence ahead of a major tournament push.

Defensively, there is still room for improvement, with six goals conceded across their last six matches. However, the win in Croatia was seen as an important marker of progress and resilience against top-level opposition.

Tunisia, meanwhile, arrive with more uneven form, but Sabri Lamouchi will take encouragement from their defensive discipline. Since a 3-2 defeat to Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations, Tunisia have conceded just three goals in five matches against Tanzania, Mali, Haiti, Canada, and Austria.

They also held Brazil to a 1-1 draw in France last November, while their most convincing wins in the past year came against Jordan and Haiti. Although results have fluctuated, their ability to stay compact and hard to break down remains a key strength.

This will be Tunisia’s third consecutive World Cup appearance, and across their last six matches in the competition they have recorded two wins and one draw. While they enter a difficult group featuring the Netherlands, Japan, and Sweden, maintaining that defensive solidity could be crucial in their bid to reach the knockout stage for the first time.
